Adisseo: growing business on promising market 

Adisseo is a leading company involved in the production of additives and nutritional solutions for animal feeds. The group is the world’s third largest in its sector, the second in the production of methionine and the largest producer of protected methionine. Founded in 1939, Adisseo’s success is based on its industrial and nutritional expertise, as well as its culture of innovation, which is behind the design, production and marketing of additives and solutions for animal feeds.

The company, whose headquarters are based near Paris, France, has a turnover of more than 1.2 billion euros and employs 1,800 employees, including approximately one hundred researchers. Adisseo has 7 research and technology divisions and 4 major production facilities in France (2), Spain and China.

Asia’s highly promising market represented 10% of sales in 2013 and represents 40% today. Its world distribution network supplies more than 2,600 customers in more than a hundred countries. Since January 2006, Adisseo has been one of the main subsidiaries of China National BlueStar, a leading group in the Chinese chemicals sector.

The company is growing fast and has ambitious growth targets. The aim is to increase the €1,4 billion turnover to €2 billion in 2020 by internal growth (50%: innovation and organic growth), and external growth through acquisitions.

The market is split into two parts: the commodities market (the dominating market, which is price-driven) and the specialties market (added-value-driven market) offering an important growth.
